Maintenance Volunteer
Description: Are you a “Jack of all trades”? We’re looking for a skilled and hard-working handy man/maintenance person to add to our team. In this position, you will help us maintain the Urban Barn and cottages at Be Still Retreats.
Hours: Flexible, needed approximately 6-8 hours per week.
Location: All hours will be performed at Be Still Retreats: N6789 3rd Avenue, Plainfield.
Responsibilities May Include (but are not limited to):
- Perform routine maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Make minor repairs to structures, such as drywall, tile work, painting, staining, and flooring.
- Maintain and repair furniture and fixtures.
- Replace light bulbs and other basic fixtures.
- Maintain and repair tools and equipment used for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and staff in a timely manner.
- Ensure all facilities and equipment are safe and secure.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures.
- May be responsible for opening and closing buildings for events and guests.
- Keep your volunteer time and submit to Be Still staff monthly.
