Gardening Volunteer

Description: Do you enjoy working outdoors and possess a strong understanding of plant care?  Do you love keeping plants healthy and beautiful?  If so, we need you on our Be Still Retreats team!

Hours:  Flexible, needed during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons approximately 4-6 hours per month.

Location:  All hours will be performed at Be Still Retreats:  N6789 3rd Avenue, Plainfield.

Responsibilities May Include (but are not limited to):

  • Planting all types of plants, including flowers, shrubs and trees.
  • Maintaining plants by watering, fertilizing, and trimming them.
  • Using and maintaining gardening tools and light gardening machinery.
  • Identifying and treating diseases, pest infestations and other issues with garden plants.
  • Cleaning up garden areas.
  • Providing recommendations for gardens.
  • Handling edging, mulching, and other garden tasks.
  • Following safety guidelines for applying chemicals and using equipment.
  • Keep your volunteer time and submit to Be Still staff monthly.
