The prayers of the righteous have power to move the army of the Lord forward in the spiritual war that is going on all around us. Picture what we might see if God removed our blinders and we saw the actual battle.
I imagine the army of the Lord glowing and on white horses while Satan’s minions are dark and upon black horses. There is clashing of metal as sword meets shield; celestial bodies strewn about. I envision God’s Holy army gaining ground with every prayer offered up to our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ. The forward progress may be difficult to see at times, but it is there. Those angelic beings upon their mounts pushing back the enemy.
The power of prayer. NOT because God “needs” us to supply Him with power. He is, after all, THE Omnipotent One. God never demands anything from us, rather, He gives us the choice to pray. Our prayers bring Him glory, honor and joy. As we choose to call upon the Name of Jesus our Heavenly Father blesses us by moving on our behalf. Praying that God’s Will be done in every situation will never fail us.
Satan and his army will fight to slow down the army of the Lord. Satan will try to keep us distracted, frustrated and impatient when we do not see “immediate” results to what we are praying. Satan tries to keep us focused on our current situation. He does not want us to help the army of God to gain ground through our prayers. But Satan is already defeated and his feeble attempts to stall God’s work are yet another one of his tricks.
So, pray often. Pray together with other believers. Pray until you see God moving and then pray some more! And without question, pray that God’s Will be done. There is ground to be gained in the spiritual war waging on around us and our prayers are effective. Let’s use this weapon God has extended to us, the weapon of prayer. There is power in prayer, and it is available right here and right now.
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of prayer. Thank You for placing people on my mind for whom I can pray. Thank You for Your army waging war on my behalf and for the victory that is mine in You. Strengthen me to pray continually in the Name of Jesus and to bring You glory by the words of my testimony. May Your Will be done in my life today. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.”

“Writing has always been a gift to me from God. There is no better avenue for me to communicate the true depths of my inner most thoughts and feelings. I was encouraged by my family and friends to write…anything…but to just write. So, I prayed about what to write and felt a calling to write daily devotionals. God has used my gift to put on paper what His Scripture means to me; my hope is that what I write hits a chord with those who choose to read the devotionals. I often include a short prayer in the devotionals I write. These prayers are meant to encourage and perhaps challenge us to pursue God’s Presence through scripture reading, meditating on God’s Word, bible studies and fellowship with other believers.
