We get caught up in the moments of life.   A terminal illness, elderly parents needing assistance, an unexpected death, conflict in the home or workplace.  The list goes on and on.  If we let them, these situations could quickly overwhelm our intellects and our emotions.  We could easily give up, throw in the towel, hoist the white flag of surrender.

But the good news is, we do not have to become overwhelmed.  We do not have to surrender.  We can trust in the One who is far greater than any human being.  We can run to the Creator of all things, and we can say to Him, “by Your great strength we will make it through”.

Up until now, when I forgot Whose, I am and Who is in control, I let fear and anxiety creep into my mind.  As my faith in Christ continued to grow my worries diminished.  I learned that if I were without belief in an omnipotent God I would quickly be consumed.  I would be consumed by fear.  Consumed by failure.  Anxiety would eat me alive.

I am so grateful and so relieved that I am not expected to be in control.  There is One far greater than any mortal being Who knows all things and sees all things from start to finish.  God will not force His control upon us.  He may even step aside and allow us to experience some of life’s difficulties to help teach us to fully trust in Him.

There is peace in trusting in our God.  It is a peace which is beyond all understanding, beyond explanation.  It is peace for you and for me.  It is a peace far greater than this world offers.  And it is just a prayer away. So, go ahead, ask Him.  Our God if greater by far to do more than we could ever imagine.

Author Kami R. Lobner

“Writing has always been a gift to me from God.  There is no better avenue for me to communicate the true depths of my inner most thoughts and feelings. I was encouraged by my family and friends to write…anything…but to just write.  So, I prayed about what to write and felt a calling to write daily devotionals.  God has used my gift to put on paper what His Scripture means to me; my hope is that what I write hits a chord with those who choose to read the devotionals.  I often include a short prayer in the devotionals I write.  These prayers are meant to encourage and perhaps challenge us to pursue God’s Presence through scripture reading, meditating on God’s Word, bible studies and fellowship with other believers.

God has been good to me and to my family.  I sincerely hope something God led me to put on paper provokes a thought in you or perhaps is that “little thing” you were needing to hear.  None of these writings are from me, but from God and His gentle guidance to put thought and prayer on paper.

May God truly bless you!”
