Tonight, at Bible study some of the women were discussing God’s greatness in His creation.  They commented on the awesomeness of tonight’s moon and the vastness of the stars in the sky.

One of the women remarked how her thoughts were focused on the day’s problems until she looked up and saw the full moon beginning its ascent.  In that moment God grabbed her attention through His glorious creation. The problem thoughts were less as God’s beauty in creation became more.

Our conversation turned to how mind-blowing it is to truly think upon everything God has created.  I commented that perhaps God gives us periodic glimpses, along with attention-grabbing “aha” moments to focus upon just a portion of His creation because He knows that is all our tiny brains can absorb at one time. Try thinking about God’s creation and hold each thing in your mind the entire time.  We could think about some of the things God created at one time, but our brains would not be able to remember everything in creation all at once.  We are not omniscient, omnipresent or omnipotent.  We are not God.

I am thankful for the momentary glimpses and “aha” moments which show me Who God is.  I am grateful when God reminds me that not only did He create innumerous “things”, but He created me.  He designed me for this life long before I breathed a breath of air.  I praise God that He knows me as well as He knows each star He placed in the sky. And He cares so much more for me than any old star.  He cares that way for you, too.

God knows what we each are going through.  He is vast, and He is great beyond our comprehension.  He is more than capable to respond to each one of our needs at any given moment.  All we need to do is ask.

Psalm 92:5 “How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!”

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

Psalm 139:13 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

“Writing has always been a gift to me from God.  There is no better avenue for me to communicate the true depths of my inner most thoughts and feelings. I was encouraged by my family and friends to write…anything…but to just write.  So, I prayed about what to write and felt a calling to write daily devotionals.  God has used my gift to put on paper what His Scripture means to me; my hope is that what I write hits a chord with those who choose to read the devotionals.  I often include a short prayer in the devotionals I write.  These prayers are meant to encourage and perhaps challenge us to pursue God’s Presence through scripture reading, meditating on God’s Word, bible studies and fellowship with other believers.

God has been good to me and to my family.  I sincerely hope something God led me to put on paper provokes a thought in you or perhaps is that “little thing” you were needing to hear.  None of these writings are from me, but from God and His gentle guidance to put thought and prayer on paper.

May God truly bless you!”
